EMF Mirror is an interactive installation that reacts to all kinds of cell phone signals. I wanted to create a contemplative space that visualizes the electromagnetic fields generated by mobile devices.
Cell phones and all electronic devices affect the physical environment invisibly. EMF Mirror is a radiogenic interface between the physical environment and the invisible Hertzian space created by electronics.
Technical Info
Several strands of electroluminescent wires are connected to a board bootloaded with Arduino. A sensor was also connected to this board via its analog inputs. A breakout circuit board was milled for the sensor, so that it would play nicely with the main board that controlled the wires.
